The Mission Marketplace is committed to raise awareness about economic and social justice. An integral part of our mission is education.
International Book Club: The Mission Marketplace and McKune Memorial Library are conducting a book club, with reading selections reflecting empowerment, multiculturalism and books having a global impact.
We meet the first Thursday of every month, 7pm at the McKune Library on Main St. Schedule:- Sept. 4: Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See
- Oct. 2: Funny in Farsi by Firoozeh Dumas
- Nov. 6: The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven, by Sherman Alexie
Adult Learners Institute Class: On February 11, 2008, the Mission Marketplace presented: "Where You Spend Your Money Matters" to the ALI. The class, which introduced the principles of socially responsible investing, provided an overview of the continuum of conscious spending, and briefly reviewed fair trade concepts, was very well received.

participated in the Chelsea School Geography Night,in January, 2007, teaching children about differing views of the world through the interpretation of map reading. - Super Saturday - This is what we presented in 2007:
Children Just Like Me – Grades 1-3 Learn about the lives of children from around the world! Children will create a passport and receive a stamp each week. We will also create crafts that are typically made by children elsewhere in the world, play their games, sing songs, and learn how you can help other children with the choices you make in everyday life.
Build a World Passport – Grades 4-6 Learn about the lives of children from around the world! Children will create a passport and receive a stamp each week. We will learn about maps and map-making. We will also create crafts that are typically made by children elsewhere in the world, play their games and learn how you can help other children with the choices you make in everyday life.
